Corda Faye Taylor
Corda Faye Taylor died December 1, 2001. She was born June 2, 1920 in the Elm Springs area, which became a part of Camp Crowder, and later Crowder College.
She was the only child of Howard Branick and May Showalter Branick.
She graduated from Neosho High School in 1937 as class valedictorian.
Corda was well known for her musical ability, receiving an undergraduate degree at Springfield Teachers College in 1941. Her degree included a lifetime teaching credential in English as well as music, with a specialization in piano performances.
She married Ralph Taylor in 1942, during World War II, in Brooklyn, N Y.
Ralph and Corda had two daughters, Suzanne, born in 1945, and Debbie, in 1949.
Corda continued her teaching and music career in the Kansas City area, where she and her family lived for 26 years. She taught in Missouri and Kansas, was a choir director, accompanied musical shows, and gave piano performances.
Corda is survived by her husband, Ralph Taylor; her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Don Peterson, Los Angeles, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Kent and Kimberly Peterson. Kent and Kimberly are both musicians, continuing in their grandmothers tradition.
Her daughter, Debbie Taylor, preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2001, at 11:00 a.m., at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation in care of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, Mo.
Services are under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

Mrs. Taylor had been a Kansas City resident for 26 years prior to moving to the Neosho, Joplin, MO, area.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Taylor; daughter and son-inlaw, Suzanne and Don Peterson, Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren, Kent Peterson and Kimberly Peterson.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Taylor.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 8, at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
