George H. Bacel, 89, of Lakeland, FL, died March 3. Born in Fayetteville, George graduated from Fayetteville High School. He was a veteran of the Marines and the battle of Guadalcanal. He was the owner and operator of Fayetteville Hairstylist for 30 years and retired from the Fayetteville Post Office. He was a member of American Legion Post 369, life member of VFW Post 7872, Emerald City Marine Corps League and a former member of the Fayetteville Lions Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lorraine; four children, Judy Schuth (Jack), Peter Bacel (Darlene), Carol Henry (Stuart) and Lori Bacel (Kevin Grems); a sister, Esoline Ketcham; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grand-children; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville. Burial with full military honors will be in Fayetteville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
