PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. Robert E. ?Bob? Badgley Sr., 84, Port Charlotte, Fla., went to the Lord on Aug. 7, 2004, in Florida, after a brief illness.

He was born Nov. 10, 1919, in Anderson. In 2000, he became a full-time resident of Fort Myers. He was employed by General Motors Corp. and was a farmer until his retirement in
1961 from General Motors. He moved to Fort Myers part time in 1961, farming his land in Indiana by summer and building homes in Fort Myers by winter.

He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church in Fort Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Marybelle (Huntzinger) Badgley Mary B whom he married in Greenstown, on Feb. 13, 1953, sharing 51 loving years together. Also surviving are his
four children, Linda and husband Chuck Barnes of Anderson, Michael and wife Beverly Badgley of Chesterfield, Robert Jr. and wife Dianne Badgley of Fort Myers, Fla., and
Cindy and husband Daniel Naeyaert of Fort Myers, Fla.; siblings, Dorthy Dunn of Yorktown, Betty Page of Anderson, Virginia and husband Charles Rector of Middletown, Gilbert and wife Jean Badgley of Fort Myers, Fla., and Bill and wife Peggy Badgley of Markleville; sister-in-law, Dody Badgley of Shirley; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and
many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Marion and Naomi (Bemish) Badgley; brother, Richard Badgley; and his former wife, Beverly ?Janney? Badgley.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson, with the Rev. Glenn Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Brookside
Cemetery, Lapel.
