Thank You for visiting my sweet and dearest Aunt Middy. She always brought sunshine to everyone. Your visit is very much appreciated by our family. God bless.
༻✿ Mildred Sterling Stockton was the daughter of Percy and Elva Simpson Sterling born on November 30, 1916 in Clermont County, Branch Hill, Ohio. Many people called her "Mill" and some called her Aunt Middy.
Mildred married William Russell Smith on August 12, 1935 and lived in Amelia, Ohio. They had two children together: 1) Georgia Rae Smith, born June 22, 1936, in Clermont County, Amelia, Ohio; and 2) Sandra Lee Smith, born January 1, 1941, Hamilton County, Cincinnati, Ohio. The marriage ended in divorce.
Mildred met the love of her life and soul when she met Owen Delos Stockton and they married on January 17, 1947 and settled into family life in Amelia, Ohio. Together they had seven wonderful children:
1) Joy Kay Stockton, born November 15, 1947, Clermont County, Amelia, Ohio;
2) Mildred Corinne Stockton, born October 14, 1949, Clermont County, Amelia, Ohio;
3) Barbara Jo Stockton, born 7/25/1951, Clermont County, Amelia, Ohio;
4) Owen "Sonny" Delos Stockton, Jr., born March 7, 1953, Hamilton County, Mariemont Ohio;
5) Steven Michael Stockton, born August 15, 1956, Hamilton County, Cincinnati, Ohio, died March 12, 1978, Clermont County, Amelia, Ohio, in an automobile accident due to stormy weather;
6) Richard Sterling Stockton, born April 12, 1958, Hamilton County, Cincinnati, Ohio; and
7) Kimberley Ann Stockton, born January 13, 1960, Hamilton County, Cincinnati, Ohio.
My dear Aunt Middy was a good and faithful Christian and was always bright and cheerful. She made everyone feel like they were special because that is how she saw each person. She loved her husband and children dearly and felt God's blessings in every grandchild. She loved growing plants and could make anything grow. She loved cats, too. There was always one sunning in the window or wrapping itself around her legs. Her beloved "O. D." passed away from a heart attack in 1991 and she never remarried. She suffered from Alzheimer's for many years. Finally God called her faithful soul home to be with Him and her cherished husband.
May Aunt Middy find blessings and peace in the presence of God in her eternal home of heaven.
