♫ The sweetest thing I've ever known is loving you... ♫
He was a good boy, hide-under-the-bed shy, yet, extremely loving and well loved by two families and many friends.
Beloved Fur-son of Gene & Becca Manuel (1996-2007) and Lisa Burks (2007-2010).
♥ Best Boyfuriend Ever ♥
Special thanks to the City of Burbank Animal Shelter for taking such good care of him between families.
Jackpot enjoyed a good life, made friends with every animal that came to our door (cats, raccoons, baby opossums, squirrels, you name it!) and we shared his adventures on his own Facebook page.
He survived a deadly saddle thrombosis that affected the use of his back legs at Christmastime 2009. Despite that, he gallantly and with much dignity remained active and in good spirits for six months after that.
Jackpot left for the Rainbow Bridge when I was out of town, having gone to Michigan to see my Mom because she had suffered a stroke. I never got to say goodbye until many months later when he came to me in a dream, purring so loudly that I felt the vibration of it in my chest.
After his death, by twist of fate or divine intervention, I unexpectedly met his first family. We were able to fill each other in on the parts of his life that we each had missed. He was so loved by us all.
Coincidentally, Jackpot shares his June 19 Angel Day date with another of my furbabies, Gussie (1984-2001). I like to believe that she was there that day to guide him Home.
For nearly two years after he was gone I would hear the floorboards creak under my bed, the way they did when he would play under it.
One night, after I had met Oliver, another senior cat at the Burbank Animal Shelter who needed a home, I asked Jackpot for his opinion. I got it in the form of an unusual rainbow reflection that shined through a window and on to his urn the next morning. There was simply nothing in that window that would have cast that glow; it came from...somewhere else.
After Oliver and I adopted each other I never again heard the creaking of the floorboards under my bed - not even when Oliver plays under there. And I've never again seen a rainbow reflection on Jackpot's urn.
Special thanks to his friends Rafi and Alicia for taking extraordinary good care of him during what turned out to be his final earthly days.
Extra special thanks and deep appreciation to his Aunt Karens for lovingly attending to his after-death care.
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
Specifically: Lovingly inurned and at home with his Mom Lisa
