Ivor Novello
Birth: Jan. 15, 1893
Cardiff
Cardiff, Wales
Death: Mar. 6, 1951
London
Greater London, England

Composer / Actor. When not composing, he wrote comedies & dramas & starred in movies. He was considered one of the most handsome leads in silent movies. The lilac bush planted as a memorial to Ivor Novello. The words "Till you are home once more" (a paraphrase of the last line of his politically stirring "Keep the Home Fires Burning--1914) appear on the plaque in front of the bush. That song was the first hit for the classically trained Novello.
