Calvin C. Ensley, 80, a resident of Springfield for almost half a century, died at 11:30 p.m. Friday at his home, 563 Sherman Ave. of heart disease. He had been in failing health for several months.
Mr. Ensley was born in Logan County, where he spent the early part of his life before coming to Springfield 46 years ago.

At the age of 26 he became affiliated with Springfield Lodge of Odd Fellows and was still a member at the time of his death. Mr. Ensley celebrated his eightieth birthday anniversary Sept. 9 at his home, when a large number of relatives and friends called to offer congratulations.
Survivors were his widow, Mrs. Matilda Cynthia (Payne) Brandle Ensley; two sons, William Raymond Ensley, of London, Madison County, Ohio, and Harry Ladru Ensley, of Cleveland, Ohio; two step-daughters, Mrs. Lorena Belle (Brandle) Miller and Miss Edna Alnetta Brandle, both of Springfield, Ohio and a sister, Mrs. Hannah Malinda (Ensley) Wood, of Catawba, Ohio.
