MONROE COMMERCIAL, Thursday, March 22, 1855 (found at Monroe County Historical Society): "
Died, in Dundee, Monroe County, Michigan, March 3, 1855, Mr. Noble Curtis, in his eightieth year. Mr. Curtis had been a resident of Dundee about 20 years, a member of the Congregational Church nearly 50 years. Since the death of his companion, about three years ago, he seemed to be slowly pining away. For a short time previous to his exit to eternity his mental faculties were in some degree impaired, but his confidence in God was unshaken. He longed for the dying hour and it came. Death had been conquered, its terror had tied through the power of Jesus's love in his heart. How pleasant it is to see "Where the good man meets his fate; it is favored far above the common walks of virtuous life, far in the verge of Heaven." The funeral service was attended by the writer on the 4th inst. Text, Numbers 23:10-"Let me die the death of the righteous and let my last end be like his." Ira Stacy
