Vera Fern Hocking was born Jan. 5, 1906. She passed away following an operation at Bryan memorial Hospital, Jan. 5, 1935. Her going was so entirely unexpected that it came as a deep shock to her family and friends.
she had been at home with her parents all of her life until the past eight years when she had been working in Lincoln. Of her immediate family, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hocking, and her sister, Eleanor, survive. And older sister, Mildred Irene, died at the age of four.
Vera was a girl of fine character, high ideals, winsome disposition. She was a girl, who was increasingly concerned about religious things. This past summer, on June 17, she made her confession and affiliated herself with the Methodist church.
