G. E. Van Siclen, Of Old L.I. Family

Funeral services for G. Elmer Van Siclen, 80, descended from a Dutch family that settled in Long Island in the 1640s, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Dutch Reformed Church, Jamaica. Burial will be in Flushing Cemetery.

Mr. Van Siclen, a retired farmer, was the son of the late Garrett and Matilda Hageman[sp] Van Siclen. He was born on a Jamaica farm, part of which was acquired in the past year by St. John's University as the site for a new building.

Since 1907 Mr. Van Siclen has resided in Hollis. He was a life member of Jamaica Lodge, F & A. M., and active in the Aurora Grata Consistory of Brooklyn, Holland Society of New York and the board of deacons, Dutch Reformed Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Rapalje Van Siclen; two daughters, Mrs. Matilda Caulkins and Mrs. Marion Augustine; a son, H. Wilbur Van Siclen, and six grandchildren.
