Emma E. Wagar,87, of Gladwin, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, in Grayling Mercy Hospital following a long illness. Born in Delaware County, Ohio, on April 30, 1897, she had spent most of her life here. The former Emma (Winn) Heckerton, she was married to Orlen (Stub) Wagar in 1936 in Indiana. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1975.
Surviving are one son, William Heckerthorn of Grayling; 2 daughters, Mrs. W. R. (Betty) Stephensn of Grayling and Mrs. Andy (Florence) Silka of Whitmann, Ariz.; 2 step-sons, Charles Wagar of Washington and William Wagar of Livonia; one step-daughter, Mrs. Orrine Broka of Beaverton; one sister, Mrs. Alex Price of Gladwin; 25 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs Edna Elson, preceded her in death May 4, 1984.
Rites were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Byron Hatch officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery.
