Midkiff Begins Duty At Base in Vietnam

WITH U.S. COMBAT Air Forces, Vietnam (Special) - Airman 1-C Gary B. Midkiff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Midkiff of 836 C northwest, Miami, Okla., is on duty at Binh Thuy, AB, Vietnam. Midkiff, a security policeman, is a member of the Pacific Air Forces. Before his arrival in Vietnam, he was assigned to the 817th Security Police Squadron at Pease AFB, N. H. The airman, a 1963 graduate of Miami high school, received his A. A. degree in 1966 from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. His wife, Marie, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo M. Panit of Groverland, Mass. Funeral Set Monday For Airman Midkiff At Miami Church

MIAMI, Okla. - Funeral services for Airman First Class Gary B. Midkiff, 22 years old, will be at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon at the First Christian church. Dr. Russell Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Ottawa cemetery, east of here, under direction of Cooper funeral home. Military rites will be performed by the honor guard from McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita, Kan. Airman Midkiff was killed February 3 on Binh-Phug Air Base during the Tet Offensive, on the Mekong delta in Vietnam. The body was to have arrived here at 6 o'clock Saturday night. Posthumously promoted to Sergeant. He was KIA while serving with the 632ND SEC POLICE SQDN, 632ND CBT SPT GROUP, 7TH AFUnited States Air Force. GARY B MIDKIFF is on the Wall at Panel 37E Line 025. May his sacrifice not be forgotten.
