Mrs. Maude E. Fuchs, 89, R.R. 1, Waldron, died at 5 a.m. today at Major Hospital. She had been in ill health since Dec. 26. A lifelong Shelby County resident, she belonged to the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church. Born Oct. 5, 1891 in Blue Ridge, a daughter of John K. and Margaret (Posz) Gahimer, she was married March 8, 1911 to Paul O. Fuchs, who preceded in death. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Henry (Mildred) Claytor, R.R. 1, Waldron, and Maurice Fuchs and Melvin “Ted” Fuchs, both of Shelbyville; 15 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Two sons, a daughter and a sister preceded in death. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Carmony Funeral Home with the Rev. James Farnsley officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Saturday. Memorials are required to be in the form of contributions to the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church.
