Priscilla Margaret Muchmore was born the fifth of the seven children of Harry Bird Muchmore and Minnie Flora Hadley. She grew up with her family in Keene, New Hampshire, a place in which she resided all of her life.

On 27 July 1927 at age 19, she married Sumner Pembroke Fisher who was born in 1902 in Munsonville, New Hampshire. They welcomed five children into the world:

Sumner Pembroke Fisher Jr 1933

Sumner Pembroke Fisher worked in a chair manufacturing shop (Norwood Calef & Company).
