Jimmie J. Mills, 61, of Bridgeport, died Saturday March 12, 1994, in Denver, Colorado. Services were held at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, Nebraska with the Rev. Ralph Jaeger officiating. Burial was in the Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Bridgeport Honor Guard.
Jimmie was born November 6, 1932 at Torrington, Wyoming to James Leonard Mills and Hazel Moldrup Lippincott Mills. He graduated from Lyman High School in 1951. He served in the US Navy in the Korean War from November 1952 to November 1956. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Good Conduct medal while in the Navy. He married Gloria Schilling on March 25, 1962 at Scottsbluff. He owned and operated Jim's Conoco in Bridgeport from June 1963 to January 1968. He then served as the Morrill County Clerk from 1971 to 1977. He later worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads until ill health forced his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the church and former member of the Bridgeport Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, daughters and son-in-law Marie and Brian Larrington of Evans, Colorado, Debra Kay Mills of Shoshoni, Wyoming and Sandra Kay Mills of Bridgeport; sisters Frances Patterson of Claremont California, and Betty Jo Schroeder of Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
