Charles was a very talented man and I am certain that I owe alot to him for who I am. Born in Licking twp., son of Smith & Nancy (Mills) Casterline, Charles married Grace Townsend Warner on the 30th of March, 1912 in Tarentum, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. They lived several years at Clarion Co. Pa. where two children were born to them, my Grandmother: Esta Marie Casterline, born 18 Feb. 1914 and her brother, Richard Paul Casterline, born 9 Oct. 1916.
Thanks be almost completely to my grandmother Esta that amazing amounts of pictures and information were safely stored since her father's days. Charles was very talented as an artist, musician, as well as anything he set his mind to. He excelled as a photographer, just as his father did pioneering early, new tecniques and at least a couple thousand beautiful pictures remain as a testimony to his life-long hobby turned profession. He had a photography studio, "Casterline Studio" in Cleveland for years untill his accidental death. Charles was struck by an automobile while crossing the street and died days later at the hospital from the sustained injuries.
An excellent husband and father who was always dressing up the family and taking pictures at different special locations, he had a short but very productive and happy life. TJD2012
