MARTHA GILBERT SON
Martha was born Oct. 25, 1934 at Valley Station, Ky. James C. and Clara (Haas) Polston ,were her parents.
They moved to Brandenburg in 1961 after he retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co. Her father preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1968. Her mother moved from Battletown Road in to he city in 1969. I met Martha then when her mother moved across the street from me. She became a good and faithful friend, and helped me so much when I was sick and after I had surgery. She would come over every morning to check on me to see if I needed anything. She was always ready to help anyone. She was a good cook and loved to bake and make candy. One if her hobbies was recipes and reading, she visited the library about every two weeks.
She did a lot of handcraft. She made all the gifts she gave at Christmas and birthdays. I will always remember her as a good friend and mother. Her children were the joy of her life.
She is survived by her mother Mrs. Clara Polston and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wallace, Louisville, Ky. and Mrs. Louise Gilbert, Elizabethtown, Ky. One brother Mr. William E. Polston, Muldraugh, Ky. - Written by Mrs. Mary Ellen Trent.
