German physicist. Nobel Prize Winner, known for his research on cathode rays and for being one of the founders of the "Aryan Physics" as opposed to "Jewish Physics" by Albert Einstein. Graduated from the University of Heidelberg and obtained his research doctorate in 1886 at the same university, from 1898 to 1907, he was professor of theoretical physics at the University of Kiel. During this time and between 1907 and 1931, when he taught at the University of Heidelberg, Dr. Lenard made ​​his discoveries about the characteristics and properties of the cathode rays which in 1905 earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics. He was also the first to study the photoelectric effect in meteorology, now known as the "Lenard effect". Professor Philipp Lenard was not interested never of active policy. However, according to biographers of Science, he as a member of the Nazi Party and scientific advisor of Adolf Hitler, permanently has compromised his image as scientist. At the end of World War II, the allied occupation forces deprived him of the title of professor emeritus and expelled him from the University of Heidelberg.
