|Birth: ||Apr. 7, 1894|

He signed his draft card in June 5, 1917 and does not appear in the 1920 Census. There are no other records showing any type of service after he signed his draft card. However, according to the Grayson County, Virginia Heritage Foundation Jerry died on Oct 27, 1918 of influenza.
Jerry C. Poe was drafted into the army in 1917. He may have died in combat fighting in WW1, however, upon looking at the history of the United States, it could be possible that he died from the 1918 influenza epidemic that swept through the United States as well as through troops who were at war. It was an odd occurence and there is nothing that establishes what Jerry Poe died of at such a young age. He left behind a wife and young daughter.
