MISS FREAR, 93,
Miss Henrietta Frear, 93, daughter of an early day Oakland minister and sister of the third governor of Hawaii, died here yesterday.
Until recent years Miss Frear was active in Oakland cultural and church circles. She lived at 1925 10th Avenue.
Miss Frear was a graduated of Mills Seminary, forerunner of today's Mills College, in the class of 1884. At the time, her father, the late Rev. Walter Frear, was pastor of the Second Congregational Church in West Oakland.
Her brother, Walter F. Frear, was the first chief Justice of the Hawaiian Supreme Court and later the third governor, serving from 1907 to 1913. He had settled in the islands in 1870 and was identified with their development under the monarchy, the Hawaiian Republic and U. S. territorial administration.
A native of Santa Cruz, Miss Frear was the last member of the minister's immediate family. Others were the late Mrs. Edward F. Woodward of Santa Rosa, Mrs. Frederick Burk of Corte Madera, Hugo P. Frear of Manhasset, New York, and Dr. Philip Frear of Oakland.
Miss Frear was a life member of the Ebell Club and belonged also to the San Francisco Woman's City Club, English Speaking Union, First Congregational Church of Oakland and the Mills College Alumni Association.
Her only survivors, nieces, nephews, and Mrs. Samuel S. Bogle of Santa Rosa, Mrs. Joseph Allen Wallis, Mrs. Urban Wild, Miss Beatrice Frear, Miss Margaret Frear Burk, Norvell Burk, Bois Burk and Dr. Dean Burk.
Private funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Albert Brown Mortuary, 3476 Piedmont Avenue.

Henrietta Frear died intestate October 6, 1958, leaving neither issue nor spouse nor brothers nor sisters. She was the last survivor of six children of Walter and Fannie Frear. Surviving her are nine nephews and nieces, the children of deceased brothers and sisters of decedent, as follows: Irma Wallace and Bess Woodward Bogle, daughters of decedent's sister Elizabeth; Beatrice Frear, daughter of decedent's brother Hugo; Margaret Frear and Virginia Wild, adoptive daughters of decedent's brother Walter; and Frear Burk, Norval Burk, Bois Burk and Dean Burk, sons of decedent's sister Caroline. A brother of decedent, Philip Frear, predeceased decedent without leaving issue. There are no deceased nephews or nieces.
