Bruce had a lot of talent in the area of residential construction, and was very creative. He could and did, do concrete, brick work, plumbing, electrical, the actual building of the structure, windows, doors, etc. He loved the outdoors, and the solitude of the woods up north. He had an artistic, creative temperament, under a somewhat calm exterior. He could tell a story well, and would help strangers with a flat tire. He was extremely protective of his family and property. He helped his widowed mother out willingly, and took that responsibility seriously. He was logical and ahead of his time in some ways. He was a mystery at times, but an interesting man. He was Catholic. His funeral mass was on May 23, 1990 at Christ the King Church, and was conducted by The Rev. Phillip Witowski. Sadly, he and his long time wife, Olga were hit by a habitual drunk driver. Olga died instantly, and he eventually recovered partially, remarried, & was married to that wife, at the time of his death. He was married briefly to his first wife when he was younger, there were no children. He then met and married Olga. He and Olga were married for almost 26 years when she passed away. He was 21 when he and Olga married.
Bruce and Olga eloped in July of 1952. They had one child together, a daughter. By the time of his death, she was married and had school aged children. He enjoyed being a grandfather, & was proud of his grandsons and his family.
----Note: I appreciate the gravesite photo posted by a f-a-gr volunteer. Unfortunately I live too far away to visit and tend the grave properly. I would assume that his widow must be unable to do it...
