Mitchell E. Jones, 44 of Brandenburg,died Friday June 16 at Baptist Hospital, East in Louisville.
He was born in La Jolla, California on October 26, 1950 the son of Robert Lawrence Jones, Sr. .and Frances Helen Johnson Jones.
Mr. Jones was a Tool and Part Attendant in the Tank Division with Civil Service at Fort Knox and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Frances H. Jones on January19, 1987.

Mr. Jones is survived by his father, Mr. Robert Lawrence Jones, Sr. Brandenburg; his wife, Mrs. Edie Harrington Jones; two children: Michellene Jones and Dennis Jones both of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Sue Ann Miller of Radcliff, Mrs. Eva L. McCoy of Ekron, Mrs. Sherry Tehrani of Ekron; two brothers; Mr. Robert L. "Bobby" Jones of Brandenburg, Retired Senior Chief Alvin E. Jones of Jacksonville, Florida.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m, Monday June 19 from the Chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Clifford, officiating. Burial was in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Jenkins Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dennis Close, Joe Bartley, Roger Cross, Dave Rose, Alan Shireman, Jay Shumate and Eddie Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers were military personnel from Ft. Knox.
