Tommy Armour
Original name: Thomas Armour
Birth: Sep. 24, 1895, Scotland
Death: Sep. 12, 1968

Hall of Fame Professional Golfer. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he was dubbed the "Silver Scot" and remains a legendary figure in the golf world to this day. In 1920, he won the French Amateur tournament, then in 1924 moved to America and became a US citizen. He won the US Open in 1927 and at the Shawnee Open that same year, scored the first ever "Archaeopteryx" when he made a 23 on a par 5, for 18-over par, which still stands as the highest score in PGA history. As a professional, he had 25 PGA Tour wins and 3 Major Championship wins. He died at age 73 in Larchmont, New York and was posthumously inducted in the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1976.
