| Birth: | Jul. 29, 1932, USA | | Death: | May 8, 2012 Virginia, USA |  Married: (1) Elizabeth Mae Ward (2) ________________ Paul Evans Gardner, 79, of Montvale, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. He served in the 780th Field Artillery Battalion during the Korean War. Paul worked for many years at Roanoke City Mills, and later worked and retired from New River Electrical Corp. He was an active member of the Blue Ridge Church of the Brethren.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ella Gardner, his first wife, Elizabeth W. Gardner, his brothers, Signal, Silas and Lee Gardner, his sisters, Helen, Thelma and Mildred Gardner, and twins Billy and Betty Gardner. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, three sons and daughters-in-law, two brothers and sister-in-law, three sisters and brothers-in-law. He was blessed with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Betty Gardner's children, and Betty's five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel in Floyd, with the Reverend Glenn Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at the Gardner-Bishop Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday after 6 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on May 20, 2012 at Blue Ridge Church of the Brethren at 2 p.m.
