John Dale Lippincott, 54, of Idaho Springs, CO, died June 26, 2007, near Steamboat Springs, CO. Funeral services for John Dale Lippincott were at 10:30 AM, Monday, July 2nd, 2007, at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, IA. Rev. John Paul Dodds, Pastor, officiated and the musician was Marilyn Kriegel. Vocalists were Natalie Beck Pavey, Janet Manatt Pilcher and Elizabeth Schroeder Paynter. Selections were "Great is Thy Faithfulness", "Parable", "On Eagles Wings" and "This Day in New Jerusalem." Honorary casket-bearers were Natalie Pavey, Doug Burke, and Louis Burke. Casket-bearers were Chad Beck, Brent Beck, Thomas Paynter, Bradley Paynter, Melvin Beck and Donald Paynter. Interment was in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, Brooklyn, IA. A memorial fund has been established. Nevenhoven Funeral Services were in charge of arrangements.
John Dale Lippincott beloved son of Dale and Helen Lippincott, and loving brother of Donna Beck and Joyce Paynter, passed peacefully to his heavenly home on June 26, 2007 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. John was born November 5, 1952 in Grinnell, Iowa. He was baptized in and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Brooklyn. John was a 1971 graduate of BGM High School where he participated in football, basketball, track and baseball. John enjoyed many adventures after leaving Brooklyn. He was a people person—always seeking opportunities to visit with interesting people in his travels. For many years he was a successful car salesman, followed by employment with a security firm. He found great pleasure in the beauty of the West and made that area his home. The love of his family brought him back frequently for visits in the Brooklyn area. In his leisure, John enjoyed all sports. He was an avid fan of boxing and remained a passionate follower of Iowa Hawkeye football, basketball and wrestling. He shared his passion for fitness and athletics with family and friends and took great interest in the sports activities of his niece and nephews. He was their number one fan. He also was quite proud of his great nieces and nephews. Survivors include his parents Dale and Helen Nelson Lippincott, Brooklyn, IA; sisters Donna (Melvin) Beck, Grinnell, IA, and Joyce (Donald) Paynter, Cedar Rapids, IA Nephews and niece include Chad (Gina) Beck, Grinnell, IA, Brent (Jodee) Beck, Cedar Rapids, IA, Natalie (Eric) Pavey, Grinnell, IA, Thomas (Elizabeth) Paynter, Ocean Springs, MS, and Bradley Paynter, Cedar Rapids, IA. Great nieces and nephews include Brody, Brielle and Brock Beck, Grinnell, IA, Riley and Carley Beck, Cedar Rapids, IA, Malynn and Kayne Pavey, Grinnell, IA and Brandon Paynter, Ocean Springs, MS. Other survivors include many aunts, uncles, and cousins. John was preceded in death by his grandparents Samuel Ray and Agnes Belle Lippincott and Selmer and Jeanie Carroll Nelson John will be remembered for his deep Christian faith and the devotion and love for his family.
