Birth: Jul. 5, 1846
Ohio, USA
Death: Oct. 1, 1925

Andrew Jackson Lippincott enrolled as a private for 3 years in Company E of the 44th Indiana Regiment on 10/16/1861. He mustered in on August 8th at Philadelphia. He was 5'10" and a farmer at age 18 in 1861. He said he had been born in Champlain, Ohio. His pension record yielded a wonderful lot of information. He was born on July 5th, 1846.

As proof of the date of his birth, he submitted (a copy of, or showed to someone) his grandfather, Abraham Brenneman's, 1806 Bible which had his birth recorded in it. His mother was Barbara Brenneman. His son, Carl, who provided information for his death certificate, stated his grand-father was Andrew Lippincott of Ohio. Andrew Jackson Lippincott married Liddia E. Plough (or Blongle) on 12/01/1866, (although a certificate states it was 12/1/1867). Liddia was born on August 29, 1848, in Montgomery county, Ohio. Their children were as follows:

Dora Ellen L. - Nov 10, 1868
William Henry L. - Mar 23, 1870
Cora Belle L. - May 29, 1872
Albert L. - May 25, 1875
Franklin Ellsworth L. - Mar 22, 1879
Zrrier Madison L. - June 7, 1881
Barth Alma L. - Oct. 9, 1884
Lilly LuEllen L. - Nov 14, 1886
Carlin Herbert L. - Apr. 8, 1890

In the Pension was an heirs letter signed by Carl H. Lippincott, Dora E. Haneline, Cora B. Pressel, Lulu L. Kreiger, Frank E. Lippincott, Erin M. Lippincott, Albert Lippincott, William H. Lippincott and Bertha Rodgers. (I don't know where "Erin M" snuck in from, but it may be the same as Zrrier M.)

In 1912, Andrew was receiving a pension of $19 a month. He complained of having had the measles and a bad back and lungs. The pension amount was increased to $25 a month in 1916; and in 1921, it was increased to $30 a month. Andrew Jackson Lippincott died at age 79 on October 1, 1925, in Washington township, Whitney County, Indiana. A widow's pension was filed for in Indiana on 10/05/1925, and by 1935, Liddia was also getting $30 a month. She died at age 87 on December 24th, 1935.
