Our dearly loved father and grandfather, George Albert Clove, 90, passed away in his home May 17th, 2010, one year following his beloved wife, Nola Truman Clove. He was born August 10th, 1919 in Enterprise, Utah, to Neils Ivor Clove and Dora Malinda Holt. He was the third born of eight living children.

George graduated from Enterprise High School then attended Henager Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. He later married his sweetheart on August 31, 1938 in Parowan, Utah. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 1st, 1939. Their marriage of 70 years blessed them with five children, twenty-eight grandchildren, and fifty-eight great- grandchildren.

Throughout his life, George accomplished many worthwhile endeavors. His first working assignment was as a secretary for Snyder Mine Company in Haley, Idaho; he served as a secretary in the offices of General Douglas MacArthur during World War 2; he opened a mercantile business with his brother Grant Clove in Enterprise, Utah; and owned an alfalfa farm on the Beryl flat while over-seer of the Escalante Valley REA station at Beryl Junction. During 1950, he served as Mayor of Enterprise for one year.

In 1957 he moved to Hurricane, Utah, as manager of California Pacific Utilities. He was transferred to Baker, Oregon as assistant manager for five years and returned again to Hurricane in 1971. George retired in 1986 from Utah Power and Light after 40 years in the power business. For the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he often served as ward clerk and sang in the choir.

George is survived by his children; Pamela (Ronald) Beatty of Mona, Utah, David (LaDawn) Clove of St. George, Utah, Phyllis (Ron) Mendenhall of Cedar City, Utah, Cynthia (Mike) Sullivan of Hurricane, Utah, and Michelle Clove of Hurricane, Utah, a sister, Mary (Joe) Rhondo of St. George, Utah, a brother, Dennis (Shirleen) Clove of St. George, Utah, a sister, Marie Sorensen of Lake Oswego, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Grant and Newell, and sisters; Rema and Francis.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane 9th Ward Chapel, 274 S. 100 w., Hurricane, Utah. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 prior to the services at the chapel. Interment will be at the Enterprise City Cemetery.
