Geraldine R. Wilson
COSHOCTON: Geraldine "Jerry" Wilson peacefully passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. She was born on December 15, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Thomas and Marguerite Kirchner.
Jerry graduated from Ursuline Academy of the Sacred Heart for Girls in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Fenn College. She worked outside the home, starting in her early years as a caregiver to young orphans in Cleveland. She also worked in different clerical and retail positions in Cleveland and Las Vegas, and was a ticket taker at the movie theater in Coshocton.
Jerry was very active in her home community. She was a board member and past secretary of the Coshocton Senior Center Advisory Board and past president of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at the Coshocton Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Women's Club, the Sara Hayes Club, and R. S. V. P. She enjoyed being with her family, playing halsey and grocery bingo, along with playing Monopoly with her grandchildren. Her famous saying, "Love Forever and a Day" will be long remembered by her family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a member of Sacred Heart Church.
Jerry had four children, who all survive. Tom and Cricket of Tampa Florida, Bob and Linda Wilson of Coshocton, Diane (Wilson) and Andy Hofstetter of Shaker Heights, and Cheryl Masterson (Wilson). She enjoyed her ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; along with her special friend and longtime caregiver, Carol Madison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and Thomas; and her sister, June.
Friends may visit with Jerry's family at the Given Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton, Ohio, on Friday evening March 16, 2012, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. A celebration of her life and Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coshocton, Ohio, on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Roscoe Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coshocton Senior Center Activity Fund, 201 Brown's Lane, Coshocton, Ohio, 43812.
