Birth: 1835, Ireland
Death: Sep. 21, 1883
Shelby County
Tennessee, USA

Interred Sept 22 1883. He was 48 at the time of death. Cause of death: Alcoholism. Source: Shelby County Register of Deaths.

There was a Mary W. Magevney who died Nov. 8, 1861 of pueperal fever per the Register of Deaths. She was listed as being from Ireland but that has a scratch mark though it and above is written Alabama. According to the 1860 Census for Memphis a Mary Magevney from Alabama was living in the household of Michael Magevney Sr, she was 33 years old. At first I believed she might have been Michael Jr.'s mother but sources show that Mary W. Gallagher married Michael Magevney Sr Dec. 29 1857 which means she was not the mother of the children listed in the 1860 census.
