GEORGE GIBSON was the son of Lawson Wheatley and Mary Frances Canafax Duncan.
His brothers and sisters were Levina Luanna S. Duncan Blentlinger, Edward Calvin "Ted" Duncam, Florida Duncan Frazee Ferguson (my great-grandmother), Jefferson Morgan Duncan and Allen Camelion Duncan.
George was married to Melissa Alexander, daughter of James and Louisa Cooper Alexander, in 1880. They were the parents of six known children-

Walter Scott Duncan
Agnes Lear Duncan Williams
Jessie Duncan Gillian
The 1930 Federal Census lists George living in Catlettsburg, Boyd County, Kentucky, and working as a laborer at the W.J. Fall Company, a stone mill.
George was a member of the Sandy City M.E. Church South and the Junior Order of United American Mechanics.
George died at the age of 80 years and 20 days at Kings Daughter's Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky of arteriosclerosis on May 1, 1939, he was widowed at his death. He was buried at the Catlettsburg Cemetery, Catlettsburg, Boyd County, Kentucky.
