From her obituary:
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Miss Dora Huffman, 70 years old, who passed away Sunday morning, May 12, 1935, at her home southwest of Aledo after a long illness.
A large number of people attended the services despite unfavorable weather and bad roads. Miss Huffman was a daughter of one of the pioneer families in Mercer County and had a wide circle of friends.
For several years she and a brother, George, had made their home together on the old farm homestead where she was born. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William E., in 1927, and Madison, in 1915.
Dora, only daughter of Henry and Mary Witherspoon Huffman, was born Aug. 23, 1864, on the old home farm southwest of Aledo and passed away Sabbath morning, May 12, 1935, in the same home, after a prolonged illness.
Since the death of her parents, Dora had been the mistress of the Huffman home. She devoted herself to the interests of her brothers and friends. The home was well known for its thrift and hospitality. A cordial welcome awaited their many friends.
Miss Huffman took a keen interest in the farm work and was well posted in business affairs in addition to her household duties. She and her brother, George had planned and worked together for many years. They have been loyal supporters to the United Presbyterian church.
She leaves to mourn the loss of a loved one, her brother George, two nieces and a large circle of friends.
