|Birth: ||1830, USA|
|Death: ||Aug. 29, 1863|
William Jasper Trimble, son of James Garfield Finish Trimble and Phoebe G Walker Trimble, was born between 16 Jul and 8 Oct 1830 in AR. He married Rhoda Allen Whitfield prior to the 1850 Federal Census of AR.
Five children were born to this family.
(From CSA records). Jasper enlisted in Izard Co, AR in the 27th Inf, CSA on 25 Jun 1862 was soon promoted to Cpl.
Jasper died on 29 Aug 1863 from lockjaw caused by a bullet wound received during the War.
(Family lore tells us that Jasper fell off his horse while on family leave and his pistol accidentally discharged, the wound causing his fatal injury, but no confirmation of such).
After Jasper's death, Rhoda and her three living sons, George, Henry and Bradly, started to move across AR to MO when she became ill enroute and died.
The boys came on to Oregon Co, MO to live with their Great Uncle, William R Whitfield and his wife, Elizabeth Hively Whitfield. (Note: Elizabeth was also a first cousin to Japser Trimble). There they lived until grown.
Family Note: Jasper and hiw wife, Rhoda, are buried in land that Jasper's father, James Finis Trimble, gave to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The area was later named Trimble Campground Cemetery.
