CAUSE OF DEATH:
Alcohol Poisoning. Sixteen-year-old Elizabeth was attending a party at 21-year-old Michael Mraz's home in Orland Park. Around 2AM, Michael dared Elizabeth to drink a quart of 107-proof cinnamon schnapps. If she succeeded, she win $80.00. Around 7AM, unconscious Elizabeth was carried into a friend's car where she then spent the night and was found unresponsive around 1PM. She died an hour later at Palos Community Hospital. Her blood-alcohol level was 0.381 percent nearly 12 hours after she had consumed the liquor. In 1997, Michael Mraz was found guilty of unlawful delivery of alcohol to a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a child by Judge William Phelan in a bench trial in the 5th District Courthouse in Bridgeview. His punishment was one year of court supervision, 200 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine.
