Born to William Laurence and Louisa Catherine (Black) Perry in Marion Kansas on 2 Nov 1906. The family gathered on Thanksgiving Day of 1908 and traveled to a new property in Laramie County, Wyoming (NW 1/2 of Sec 22) where they brought their possessions in an immigrant car. to the town of Egbert claiming a homestead near the Remer claim. The family remained there only long enough to prove up on their claim before returning to Kansas. Most of the winter passed before the Remer family could hand over the claim. By 1915 the family census shows that they were in Wilson, Marion, KS. On 12 Mar 1929, he married Florence Lavina Olsen. They had three boys, Wayne, Floyd, G. Stanley and one daughter, Leona. He lived in Missouri and Kansas was his final home. As a farmer, a carpenter/painter for the WPA, an owner of a cafe, George enjoyed working with his hands. One of his favorite past times was playing cribbage.
He died Monday, 16 Jul 1990 in Wichita surround by family. Services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, 18 Jul 1990 at the Thompson-Harp-Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. Obituary was in the Tuesday, 17 Jul 1990 edition of the Wichita Eagle. Memorials had been established with the American Lung Association and College Hill United Methodist Church.
