Francis Andrews probably immigrated to New England in the 1630's. He was in Hartford in 1639 and an early member of the First Church. He married Anna Smith, daughter of John Smith, in Hartford. He purchased the north part of Richard Butler's lot on the corner of Elm St. & Trinity St. His name is on the Founder's Monument in the Ancient Burying Ground at Hartford.
Around 1648, he removed to Fairfield where he lived until his death. His will written June 6, 1662 and proved March 5, 1662/3 names sons: John, Thomas, & Jeremiah, and daughters: Elizabeth, Mary, Hester, Rebecca & Ruth.
