Korea Crash Victim's Rites Pend
OGDEN - Funeral services are pending for Pfc. Paul Eldon Field, 21, who died of head injuries in an automobile-train accident in Korea.
The body has arrived in San Francisco and will be brought to Ogden for funeral services and burial.
Pfc. Field, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon L. Field, 525 Twenty-ninth St., was born May 17, 1930. He attended Lewis Junior and Ogden High School, where he was active in the athletic progam and starred in football.
After graduation he worked in California and later at the Ogden Arsenal until his induction into the Army on Feb. 26, 1951.
He received his training at Ft. Bragg, N. C., and was sent overseas in October of that year. He attended a Signal Corps School in Japan and was then transferred to Korea.
The fatal accident occurred while Pfc. Field was en route to Seoul from Taegu.
Survivors include his parents; one half-brother, Leonard Maddock Edwards, and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Maddock, all of Ogden, and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Field, Slaterville, Weber County.
