Eleanor C. Plummer was born to Emory G. and Mary Edna (DeVore) Plummer in Frostburg, Allegany County, Maryland, on 29 October 1915. On 26 July 1935 Eleanor married James "Jim" Oliver Smith, the son of Charles Wesley and Lula Minerva (Humbertson) Smith.
Jim married Eleanor C. Plummer on 26 July 1935, she was the daughter of Emory G. and Mary Edna (DeVore) Plummer.
They moved across from Jim's parents on Hill Street in Frostburg, and across from the Hill Street School.
Eleanor and Jim had the following children: James "Jimmy" Lee; Charles "Chuck" Emory; Donald "Donnie" Allan; Mary Lou; Henry "Hank"; and Martin "Marty" Smith. The children went to Hill Street School and Beall High School.
Eleanor loved to cook and bake---many gathered at their house and enjoyed all her goodies. She made the best fudge, which her son Jimmy gave us the recipe in 1998.
Later, Jim and Eleanor moved to Ohio with their families, where he worked in the Auto industry.
James "Jim" passed away 07 January 1964 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio and Eleanor passed away seven months later on 09 August 1964 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
They were both buried together in Frostburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
