Died Monday
R. Westra of Nashua, Montana, died at the Menahga Hospital Monday evening at nine o'clock after an illness of several weeks. He was operated upon in North Dakota a few weeks ago to have a tumor removed, but the operation was not successful and submitted to a second operation at the Menahga Hospital last week. His condition was too impaired to stand the strain and he passed away Monday night.
Deceased with his wife came here two weeks ago to spend the winter at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Geo. Eierman, of Orton, with the hope that rest and quiet benefit Mr. Westra's health. Deceased was a former resident of Wadena county and was one of the county's early settlers and is well known among the older settlers. He moved to North Dakota about ten years ago and later located in Montana.
