Jean wasn't scheduled to be on the flight but as she did on many days, Jean reported to Logan International Airport, ready to take the place of anyone who called in sick. It would be the luck of the draw for her to end up on any given flight. She was a Longmeadow High School graduate and had been flying standby filing in on flight crews all month, splitting her time between Boston and her parent's Longmeadow home.
