Harry N. LaPlace,617 S. 35th St., died Monday, Jan. 31, in Logansport after a lengthy illness. Born in Denver, Colorado May 17, 1902, he came to South Bend 30 years ago. In 1927 in St. Joseph MI he was married to LuLu Marshall, who survives. Mr. LaPlace was employed by the Northern Indiana Transit Co. as a purchasing agent, and was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodges.Surviving are his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Oscar LaPlace of Osceola, his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Benjamin Debowe of South Bend, and Mrs. Roland Chubbuck of Junction City, KS; three sons, Robert and Richard LaPlace, both of South Bend, and Harold L. LaPlace of Columbus, OH; a sister, Mrs. John Bagley of Holyoke MA, and two brothers, John LaPlace of Mishawaka, and Dennis LaPlace of Osceola, and five grandchildren. The Hollis Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. A funeral service was held in the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Harold D. Neel, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Mishawaka, officiating. Burial is in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
