A native of Lewiston, Maine, he moved to Braintree in 1917. He retired as a sergeant from the Braintree Police Department in 1965 after 36 years of service.
He was a member of the Braintree Police Assn. and the Holy Name Society at the Church of St. Thomas More. During the 1940's and 1950's he was athletic director for the St. Thomas More CYO.
He left behind a wife, Emma A. (Reardon); a son, Donald E. Cohoon of Braintree; a daughter Frances A. Hatch of Avon, a brother Raymond J. Cohoon of Marshfield; and six grandchildren.
