Tanya Eleanor Carlson, 70, of Hernando, went home to be with the Lord, on October 19, 2008, under the care of Hospice of Citrus County and her family. Tanya was born in St. Petersburg, FL, to George & Mildred Boyden. She was a Life member of the Air Force Sergeants Asso. Auxiliary, and while her husband was stationed in Naples, Italy, she served 1 term as Girl Scout Neighborhood Chairman. After moving to Citrus County in 1982, she founded and was leader of the Citrus County Chapter of The Compassionate Friends/The Bereaved Parents Of The USA, for 14 years. In 1993, she proudly received her AA degree from CFCC at the age of 55. She enjoyed crafts, camping with her Sassy Sams Camping Club, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Rodney Carlson; daughters Deborah Carlson (Gary Nelson); Suzanne Chesmore (Chris) all of Hernando; grandchildren Heather Palma (Anthony) of Inverness; Benjamin Wilson of Hernando; Nathan Chesmore of Hernando; Beverly Drury (Daniel) of Jacksonville; Mike Rast Jr. of St Petersburg; great-grandchildren Cale & Anya Palma of Inverness; Mateo, Killian & Joshua Drury of Jacksonville; Mackenzie Rast of St Petersburg. She was a true Christian and her family finds comfort in knowing that she has joined her son Troy Carlson (passed 1982, 15 years old) & great-grandson Caleb Rast (passed 2003, 6 months old) in heaven.

A memorial service will be held at Rock Crusher Road Church of God on Nov. 15, 2008 at 1 p.m. followed by light refreshments. Neptune Society, Palm Harbor.
