He retired from the Marion Fisher Body Plant after 31 years of service as a Hi-Lift Driver in the shipping department in 1991. He lived in Marion from 1960 to 1983, where he ran a welding and towing service part-time from his home. He moved to Huntington in 1983, where he enjoyed working on and selling old car parts. He married Sheryl Tabor-Withrow on Dec. 24, 1984.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Terri J. Tipton, Huntington, Jackie DeRossett, Kentucky; step children, Clayton Withrow, Jonesboro, Mary E. Withrow, Kentucky; sister, Barbara J. George,Jonesboro; brother, David DeRossett, Jonesboro; grandsons, Casey Orme (Crissy), Marion, and Robert C. Orme (Heidi) Marion; great granddaughter, Gaddy Orme and several step great grandchildren; two special nephews, Chris Jones and Gary Jones, Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Pamela DeRossett and Ann DeRossett; a brother, Claude DeRossett.
