Mr Fredrick William Newstead.
Known also as Fred.

You came from a completly diffrent era.

In many ways I would have loved to have spoken with you and wife Rosetta as the rock's of the family. However it was not to be.

From what I know you where loved by all the family, you where known as a very strong man who was not openly affectionate but cared deeply for your family. You put together portsmouth's first football team Grandad Fred. You loved your bowling green and your family with a passion. As did Rosetta.

Ruled the family with a rod of iorn and demanded complete respect and was a prize fighting boxer and hard as nails. Devoted dad and husband though and friends with everyone around the area, everyone knew Fred and the older he got the more popular he became!

Fred and Grandad Percey had a strong bond and he was devestated when Grandad Percey passed away before him.

You married Rosetta Alice Aviss in December 1908 in london and remained there until 1914 when you went to scotland where you stayed for a number of years before moving down to Portsmouth as Rosetta needed the heat and had illness in the cold. The two of you remained here since in a lovely house Aunt Dig lived in for many decades until her passing as well and Nanny Rose lived a few roads away.

R.I.P great grandad Fred as you said to the local newspaper on your 90th birthday when you got 90 pints and on your 100th birthday! "The trick is, everything in modoration and you have to be able to move with the change of time."

Had alot of help from Rosetta (Daughter) and Dorothy in later years. However could still do 98% for himself. Fred Liked the family parties.

xxx Fly Free Angel you are missed but we would not bring you back here to be in this mordon world you are better off with those you loved so much in lands of happiness and peace xxx

Dearly Loved Dad, remained in his own home until the end. Loving Grandad and Great-Grandad. Unlike his wife and daughter who where buried at Milton, Fred Was cremated after his death at Portchester Crematorium and his ashes buried with Rosetta and now Dorothy at Milton.

R.I.P
