Nov 13, 2008; ELYRIA, Ohio - Walter M. Morris, of Avon Lake, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria, following a brief illness. He was born March 30, 1922 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and was a resident of Key Colony Beach, Florida for 30 years, recently moving to Avon Lake.
Mr. Morris worked as an agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) of the United States Government for 32 years, retiring in 1977. He served in the Army-Air Corps during WWII and enjoyed the outdoors, reading and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Atwell of Monrovia, Maryland; son, Scott Morris of Mayfield Heights; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Beatrice Logue of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and Hester Fink of Frisco, North Carolina; and brother, Barney Morris of Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Morris in 2001; sister, Thelma Nunn and a brother, Juny Morris.

MIAMI, Fla. Thelma Jean Kelly Morris passed away March 2, 2001, at the Miami Heart Institute, Miami, Fla. Jean was born January 27, 1929 in Bluefield, W.Va. to the late Ernest Bailey Hale and Thelma Sue Carter. Her ashes will be buried along with her husband Walter Miller Morris's ashes who passed away November 11, 2008, in Elyria, Ohio. Walter was born March 30, 1922, in Williamsport, Pa. to the late Norman Clayton Morris and Emma Rossi Miller.

Those left to cherish Jean and Walter's memory include daughter, Linda Kelly Atwell; and son, Scott Morris; grandchildren, Timothy Atwell, Derek Morris, Rebekah Stephens and Melinda Morris; great-grandchildren, Tyler Atwell, Devin Atwell, Ryan Atwell, Madison Morris, Abigail Stephens, Ethan Morris, Jordan Harris, Jada Harris, Micah Stephens and Andrew Morris; Jean's sister, Jimmie Sargent; and Walter's sisters, Beatrice Logue and Hester Fink.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 19, 2010 in the Gethsemane Section of Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.Va. with the Reverend Watkins officiating from Bluefield First Christian Church.

Arrangements were made by Roselawn Funeral Home and Cemetery.
