My Aunt Jackie was born in Cleveland in 1944, the first child of Roland and Jean Harnett. When she was 12 years old she underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor. The surgery was successful but was not without its side effects, and she had to relearn certain things like walking and keeping her balance. Despite the many obstacles she faced during her teenage years, she continued her schooling and graduated from John Marshall High School in Cleveland when she was 18 years old.

She was married to David Harry Moore (1943-2017) in 1974 and lived most of her life in Elyria, Ohio. She volunteered at Cascade Elementary School where she read to first and second-graders, and volunteered with Red Cross Sunshine Girls in Elyria. She also sang in the choir at Lorain County Community College. She was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint. She introduced me to cross-stitching and I still think of her every time I'm working on a new pattern.

Aunt Jackie passed away at the Cleveland Clinic on 19 March 2003 as a result of complications of leukemia.
