Pioneer Dies at Age of 81
Kimberly, May 30—Charles Merlin Heath, 81, retired farmer and pioneer resident of Idaho, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday at his home near Kimberly following a prolonged illness.
Born Oct. 7, 1874, at Plain City, Utah, he moved to Almo in 1885 and to Twin Falls in 1905. He worked in Rock Creek canyon making bricks and later farmed.

He married Eunice Mary Edwards March 18, 1893 at Almo. They were remarried in 1925 in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. He was a member of the Kimberly LDS church.
Surviving are Mrs. Heath; four daughters, Mrs. Lucretia E. McVey, Twin Falls; Mrs. Clarissa R. Snow, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Nellie L. Baker and Mrs. Eunice O. Denny, both Portland, Ore.; one son, Clarence H. Heath, Kimberly; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Three sons, Parley Heath, Edwin Heath and Burtrum Heath preceded him in death.

Charles Heath is Paid Final Honor
Funeral services for Charles Merlin Heath were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Twin Falls mortuary chapel with Bishop Floyd H. Olsen conducting.
The invocation was given by Elder Evera Morran and the obituary was read by Elder J. Wesley Glenn. Bishop E. J. Morgan was the speaker. Benediction was given by Elder Russell Jensen.
A duet was sung by Lerts and Nina Cunningham and a solo by Cunningham. Mrs. Stanley Phillips was organist.
Honorary pallbearers were Archie Quesnell, Larry Sullivan, John Moore and Stacy Sampson. Active pallbearers were Dean Groves, William Reeves, Edward Heath, Robert Cunningham, LaVon Williams and Garth Morrill.
Final rites were conducted in Sunset Memorial park. The grave was dedicated by Elder Charles Barnes. Twin Falls Times News, June 3, 1956
