Death: Feb. 28, 1963

Mrs. Lucile Buchanan, 69, of Wentzville, died at 8 p.m. Thursday, at a St. Charles hospital. She taught English and Latin at Wentzville High School, and held a Ph. D degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She had attended Drury and Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield. A member of the Christian Church, she wa a Navy veteran of World War I. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, she was a noted stamp collector, writing a column for Stampwholesaler magazine. Survivors are her husband, Reginald D.; and four sisters, Miss Mildred Jones, 413 East Portland, principal of Portland School, Mrs. R. M. Cox, 1107 East Cherokee, a teacher at Ed V. Williams School, Mrs. Hardin Frank, Alton, and Mrs. Clyde Carver, Hume. The body will be returned here for services and burial under direction of Jewell E. Windle.
