Michael A. Collins died Tuesday of congestive heart failure in his Vancouver home. He was 70. A service for the family will be held Friday in Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Collins was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada, on Dec. 1, 1917. He had lived in Vancouver since 1951. Mr. Collins was a retired manufacturing representative for Mico Mobile Sales & Leasing in Portland. After retirement, he worked in the manufactured housing field. Mr. Collins served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a lifetime member of an Elks lodge in Ketchikan, Alaska.

Surviving Mr. Collins are his wife, Thelma L. of Vancouver; son, Michael P. of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Gail K. Spence of Vancouver, and two grandchildren.

Disposition was by cremation.

Mike was the son of John Collins and Agnes Barons Collins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and one sister: Victor, Charles, Jack and Minnie.
