Funeral Was Wednesday for Mrs. Emma Bangen Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 13th at 10 a.m. in Bethel Lutheran Church, New Town, for Mrs. Emma Bangen, 85, New Town, who died last Monday in a Minot hospital.
Rev. Dennis Marchus officiated and interment was in the Sand Hill Cemetery at Climax, Minn. Organist was Mrs. Joyce Prosser and soloist was Mrs. Marlyn Aubol. Pallbearers were Howard, Arvid and Jeffrey Bangen, Marland Aubol, Jack Peterson and John Lacey.
Mrs. Emma Bangen was born March 15, 1887 in Climax, Minnesota to Mr. and Mrs. Nels Berg. She was reared there and on November 9, 1907 married at Climax to Theodore Bangen.
They lived in the Climax area until 1917 except for a short time when they homesteaded in Alberta, Canada. In 1917, the Bangens homesteaded in the Sanish area. They moved to Minot in 1959 and lived there until 1969 when Mr. Bangen died. Since that time, Mrs. Bangen had lived at the New Town Nursing Home.
Along with her husband, an infant daughter preceded her in death. Surviving are two half-brothers, Monroe Berg of Grand Forks and Alton Berg of Climax. Johnson-Williamson Funeral Home, New Town, was in charge of arrangements.
